Women & COVID-19: Pandemic could set marginalized women back for decades

A master’s student in Toronto has been staring at her bills for a while, trying to figure out how she is going to find the money to pay them. Although she has earned some academic bursaries, the money is running low now that the semester is cancelled, and she can’t work as a teaching assistant. Three months of quarantine have taken their toll. What normally would be a few disagreements, have turned into weeks of violent outbursts and broken dishes.

Save the dates: PSAC webinars on antiracism

Once again, a spotlight is shining on systemic racism within international justice systems – systems that have oppressed Black, racialized, and Indigenous people for centuries.

Anti-Black racism is not new and is very much entrenched in all aspects of Canadian society. PSAC is pleased to offer a series of webinars on anti-racism, specifically, to better understand the experiences of Indigenous, Black, and racialized workers and how we can dismantle racism in workplaces and unions.
