On February 7th, 2024, Alex Silas, recently elected as the Public Service Alliance of Canada’s National Executive Vice President, was arrested at a picket line for merely supporting striking Non-Public Funds (NPF) workers.

Télétravail au fédéral : l’AFPC se retire des réunions faute d’une véritable consultation
Le Conseil national d’administration de l’Alliance de la Fonction publique du Canada (AFPC) a décidé de ne plus participer aux réunions avec le gouvernement fédéral sur l’Orientation concernant la présence prescrite au lieu de travail, dénonçant la consultation de façade et la décision unilatérale d’imposer le retour au bureau trois jours par semaine.

The Public Service Alliance of Canada’s National Board of Directors has made the decision to withdraw from the federal government’s meetings on the implementation of the Direction on prescribed presence in the workplace over a lack of real consultation and the government’s unilateral change to a three-day in-office mandate.
