La Cour suprême du Canada confirme que certaines dispositions de la Loi sur l’équité salariale du Québec renforcent la discrimination salariale, en plus d’être inconstitutionnelles.
« Cette décision indique clairement que les iniquités salariales fondées sur le genre constituent une violation des droits des femmes, protégés par l’article 15 de la Charte des droits et libertés, affirme le président national de l’AFPC, Chris Aylward. Le gouvernement fédéral devrait s’en inspirer pour rédiger une nouvelle loi proactive en matière d’équité salariale. »

Pay equity court case a guide for new federal law
The Supreme Court of Canada has confirmed that sections in Quebec’s pay equity law reinforce pay discrimination and are unconstitutional.
“This decision clearly states that pay inequities based on gender are a violation of women’s rights under section 15 of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms,” said PSAC National President Chris Aylward. “It also provides the federal government with a useful roadmap to drafting a new federal, proactive pay equity law.”
